COM has been a foundational Partner since the start of the program and has been leading the way in its work on diversity, inclusion and racial equity. In 2020 the college was awarded the Dr. John W. Rice Diversity and Equity Award for reducing equity gaps for students of color in completion and transfer and reducing the gap between the College’s proportion of students of color and faculty of color.
COM staff participate in Partnership Leadership Teams as well as play instrumental roles in teams working on college and career readiness through their COMPASS and dual enrollment initiatives, on enrollment through their SummerBridge program, and on completion through their transfer support services and student peer support and affinity groups.
