SummerBridge

College of Marin’s Summer Bridge in collaboration with 10,000 Degrees is a three-week program that is designed to help graduating seniors successfully transition into college. In addition to providing math and English support, goals include preparing more students for full-time matriculation through completion of priority enrollment steps, increasing students’ confidence in college ability and study habits, connecting students to campus resources, and facilitating a positive learning community.

College of Marin is a community college located in Kentfield, CA. 10,000 Degrees is California’s leading college success nonprofit supporting students to and through college.

Every year, roughly 100-150 students participate in Summer Bridge. Launched in 2014 with a cohort of 24 students, Summer Bridge was designed as an intensive multi-week session to prepare first-generation college students beginning classes in the fall. Since then, the program has expanded each year and has helped hundreds of students improve their scores on English and math placement tests, develop good study habits, learn about resources available on campus, and create their academic plan. All this translates into savings in the form of tuition expenses, book fees, and study time.
